Don’t be fooled, they only learned to play the harmonica to distract you when one of their tribemembers picks your pocket!

  11. tolga7t says:

doesn’t the way he swing remind you of little walter a bit? It’s usually pretty hard to find common traits between the 2 great players

There is much to be learnt here.

From what I understand, the Echo Super Vamper was the same harmonica as the Marine Band. The MB was sold in the Americas and the ESV was sold in Europe and Australia. The European 12 hole version was just called the Echo Vamper. It sure looks and sounds like he’s playing a 12 hole EV in the key of D. They still make 12 hole Marine Bands in C, D & G (Hohner model #364/24).

  14. printer944 says:

the echo vamper I searched for one for a long time and found out they are now marine band 365 available in d anc c a good harmonica Sonny Boy knew how to use them proper I actually like hearing Sonny on his own like this,

  15. cedricleecason says:

Yeah! I see that now, Echo! Thanks!

  16. noyna9 says:

I don,t think you could get a low d 12 holed echo vamper in those days to be honest.Somebody with any facts correct me if I am wrong.

  22. negrokezo says:

Yep, it’s a Low-D harp. I’m playing -or trying to- right now Bye Bye Bird.

    What an awesome song…

  23. Mariekesone says:

Priceless..How cool is that at the end:-)

  24. TomJous says:

    okay thanks a lot :)

  25. hillspring13 says:

Well, I play along with this on my (normal) D Special 20 in an octave that’s higher than anything I in the vid :-) Since Sonny seems to be playing in 2nd position, I assume his is a low-D.

I’ve got a Hohner Low-F Big River so naturally assumed a low-D also exists.
