If you are looking for a good night out, then Leicester has a great selection of bars and clubs to keep you occupied. Leicester has an intimacy that some of the larger cities fail to deliver on and whatever scene you are into, it seems that Leicester has an eclectic mix of entertainments, that are sure to keep you coming back time and time again.

Leicester has some great bars that are worth paying a visit, such as Whites Victorian bar, which can be found on Humberstone Gate in the city centre. The bar has recently been refurbished to a high standard and as well as providing real ales and a wine list, the food menu is highly recommended too.

Every city seems to have a Walkabout bar and Leicester is no exception to the rule. However, you can always guarantee a good night at a Walkabout. Lively, bustling, and if you are into your sports, they always have big screen events on. If you possess a Boomerang card you qualify for 25% off, all day everyday, you can’t say fairer than that.

If you are paying a visit to Leicester’s city centre, then the The Firebug Bar, on Millstone Lane is definitely worth investigating. The bar has a relaxed dress code and vibe, which has helped the bar to attract a wide variety of clientèle. The bar offers a fantastic range of drinks and has a cocktail happy hour Sundays-Thursdays 6pm-9pm.

If you are looking to finish your evening off in one of the cities clubs, then Liquid & Envy is probably Leicester’s most popular nightclub. The club boasts two different rooms playing different types of music, which can be anything from cheesy pop tunes to the latest dance, RnB and Drum & Bass anthems.

If you enjoy your dance music then Forbidden, at Starlite will be up right your street. The club has one of the longest running hard house nights in the UK and enjoy giving some of the up and coming DJs the chance to showcase their skills. Many of these DJs have gone on to become big names in the hard house genre.

Mosh is the favoured nightspot for rockers and those into the indie scene. Playing alternative music for three nights of the week, entrance is just £2 before 11.30 and £5 thereafter. For a midweek night out the club plays pop hits, classic indie and dance anthems on a Tuesday, which is a popular night for students where an NUS card ensures reduced entrance fees.

For live music then ‘The Musician’, located in the heart of Leicester, has built its reputation on booking only the very best in home grown and international folk, blues, roots and Americana talent. The pub has undergone a refurbishment program several years ago and now the capability of comfortably playing host to 220 people.

Thinking of a weekend away or a night out on the town? Then visit Leicester you won’t be disappointed.
