What is a good blues bar to go to in New Orleans?

Me and my lady are wanting to go to New Orleans and go to a good blues bar. We have never been to one and would like our first experience to be one to remember.

and of course check out who is playing at house of blues and tipitinas
New Orleans is always memorable.
The Maple leaf is pretty cool and they have live shows a lot, but you would want to check first. There is a place in the French Quarter though that is pretty awesome. It’s one of those dimly lit, smokey places that the blues belong in. I forget the name, but it is on Bourbon Street near Canal. It isn’t the Bourbon Blues Co. because that is actually a dance club.
