Algebra and trigonometry
The first was a discussion of the importance of proof in mathematics. I focus on the symbolic language. It should indeed be easy to make updates. One of the things I most like about this text especially the algebra half is that topics are organized in a way that requires revisiting and deepening the understanding of earlier topics.I found the algegra to the material and real world applicable examples to be unbiased. Try to avoid including several quite similar examples. I do feel this book is a little bit too long though. The author has covered everything that is in the standard College Algebra scope and sequence, the standard College Algebra that does not include trigonomtry.
It is a user- friendly because the layout makes it easier for students. Note that I did not work all examples, but at least one from every section in the book. I feel it is quite consistent! Textboik student should be able to sit down and read any given section, working through the examples.
I used the book in three sections of College Algebra at Lorain Students had the option of downloading the book as backroadsofamericanmusic.com file from our website.

Conditions of Use
As mentioned above, Beveridge's scope and sequence is a bit different than most College Algebra text books, I like this this book. This book has over a thousand pages. It at times felt like it was less than College or even Advanced Algebra level. Comments Overall.

Some instructors prefer to teach factoring trinomials using trial and error with a focus on students understanding the general principle as the publisher explains for factoring trinomials with coefficients of 1 and factoring by pulling out the GCF.
