Cook's Illustrated is an American cooking magazine published every two months by the America's Test Kitchen company in Brookline, Massachusetts. Founder and former editor Christopher Kimball launched Cook's magazine in with money raised from investors. Kimball later reacquired rights to the name, hired several former Cook's staff members, and launched a rebranded Cook's Illustrated in Circulation grew from an initial 25, to , in and one million subscribers in , maintaining a growth rate substantially higher than the general category of cooking magazines. A sister magazine, Cook's Country , which emphasizes home-style cooking and reader submissions, launched in October ; the two magazines come out in alternate months. The Society is a c 3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the culinary arts. These advertising-free forums are provided free of charge through donations from Society members. Obviously lots of recipes with interesting notes also. I always love the notes and explanations. Back home in Canada my library doesn't carry Cook's Illustrated and the larger city library has only a few issues. I've borrowed it from the local library in Utah and am thinking about buying it.
