The first printing of the British edition consisted of only copies. The story takes place on the Discworld, a planet-sized flat disc carried through space on the backs of four gargantuan elephants — Berilia, Tubul, Great T'Phon and Jerakeen — who themselves stand on the shell of Great A'Tuin, a gigantic sea turtle. The surface of the disc contains oceans and continents, and with them, civilizations, cities, forests and mountains. The story begins in Ankh-Morpork, the biggest city on the Discworld. The main character is an incompetent and cynical wizard named Rincewind , who is hired as a guide to naive Twoflower , an insurance clerk from the Agatean Empire who has come to visit Ankh-Morpork.

I only bought this because all of the reviews from the unabridged version complain about the poor audio quality. He does not know how to read out loud?

The Great A'Tuin, the heroic turtle who supports the weight of the entire Discworld, not to mention four giant elephants, swims through the galaxy day and night with the burden of being the only creature who knows exactly where the universe is going. Well, they are on a collision course with a malevolent red star and only one person can save Discworld.
I don't think a coolr would be able to understand all the wit and the scarcastic comments between the lines …more No it isn't. I would highly recommend buying the unabridged version of Book 2 The Light Fantastic to follow on with however.
