It's extremely hilarious, well-written, we learn that Ged will eventually become Archmage and dragonlord, it's to go and attack the enemy, br I'll leave it there. And the best protection now is not to sit and wait for the enemy to come to him. On the first page of the novel. Spoilers any further than that.

Feeling distant and lost, Gwen has journeyed to Atlantis, a tolerant and benevolent kingdom governed by the Sorceresses, and a place known to be a safe haven to all female time-travelers. Ever since Martin Banks and his fellow computer geeks discovered that reality is just a computer program to be happily hacked, they've been jaunting back and forth through time, posing as medieval wizards and having the epic adventures that other nerds can only dream of having. But even in their wildest fantasies, they never expected to end up at the mercy of the former apprentice whom they sent to prison for gross misuse of magic and all-around evil behavior. Martin and his friends discovered that their world is computer generated and that by altering the code they could alter reality.

Throughout A Wizard of Earthsea Le Guin's language is plain, and exact; her tone grave and slightly formal; and the rhythm of her sentences carefully balanced and musical.Don't remember any swearing though. His different voices for each character were all fantastic. Rate book. I literally laughed out loud on multiple occasions.
Rating: 4. The characterization, allowed me to be interested enough in the main character to stick with the story to the end to see what happened to him. There was one reference to a character being "turned on" but it was a humorous one I'm sure most readers not knowing the meaning of that phrase would glaze over. Michael Dirda.
